A favorite mentor said, “If you don't know where you are aiming from you will always undershoot your target?”  Knowing your distance is critical or you will miss the target every time.  Even if the bulls-eye is in the center of your rifle sites, gravity sucks the bullet toward the ground.  

Just like gravity, there are key business and human elements that must be understood and adjust for in order to maximize business and team performance.  You might be thinking, “But I live with my team day in and day out, how can I not know our true status?”

People are motivated by much more than money.  In our experience the motivator that shows up the strongest and most often is the importance one feels in their personal contribution to a strong team.  

People need to see their part and know how to contribute in all of the areas assessed above.  These assessments form the basis of a living document called the Team Blue Print.  It becomes alive as the awareness is discussed and lived by all team members.

Basis for Team Profiling and Team Blue Print

This formula was discovered when Margrit had the stars align in 1998.  Steve Binder (a top regional manager for Everen Securities, now Wachovia) asked,

Why do 50% of the financial advisors who partner fail miserably while many double their production when they form teams?”

She was given the opportunity to study Everen partnerships across the USA which revealed an unexpected answer.  The main key to success, ahead of the 13 common business factors, was adhering to the Six Relationship Rules above.  

Then Steve asked,

“Now that we know these human elements determine team success, how do we build powerful teams?”

Given her deep academic background and practical experience in human behavior and business, Margrit developed unique Awareness Tools based on the Six Relationship Rules of her study.  These tools are the core of her work with Everen and other financial planning groups as well as countless others in various industries.  We have seen major results in assessing and developing “powerful teams”.
